Writer/Producer/Instrumentalist Kevin Bowe has racked up over 12 million in sales with songs he has penned for Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Shannon Curfman and many other artists. From humble beginnings in the Minneapolis scene that spawned The Replacements, Husker Du and Prince, Kevin has forged a successful and divergent career path which includes 8 cuts that have gone gold and platinum. His songs have been used in many high profile TV shows (Sopranos, Felicity, Tonight Show, Letterman, Austin City Limits, VH1, MTV,ESPN, CMT) and major motion pictures/soundtracks (Where The Heart Is, Steal This Movie). Kevin’s specializes in co-writing with artists and bands to create a song that is embraced by radio while remaining true to the artist’s original style. His single/video “Breakin’ Me” reached #2 for Jonny Lang on his Grammy nominated platinum “Wander This World” album; Kevin also co-wrote “I Don’t Make Promises”, the biggest single/video off Shannon Curfman’s highly acclaimed Arista debut. He also contributed four songs to the new Etta James release “Let’s Roll” which has been nominated for a Grammy. After being asked to help co-produce some of his songs for other artists Kevin acquired his own studio and began creating demos that attracted attention from managers and a&r. This has led him to produce projects from Sony and others as well as several national television spots and artists he is developing himself. His first ever development project (Shane Henry) just got signed to Shanachie and he just finished producing Renee Austin’s debut on Blind Pig (including a duet with Delbert McClinton) as well as instrumental spots for Target and ESPN Sports. Kevin has signed three artists to development deals and has several albums booked including Tommy Castro’s next release. Kevin’s reputation for humor and patience is only exceeded by his strong work ethic and a passion for real music. Despite the proliferation of cookie cutter fluff that currently dominates the charts, Kevin has continued to write and produce music with soul, intelligence AND mass appeal. Although his first successes were in the roots rock genre, Kevin has proven to be equally comfortable in many other styles from alternative pop/rock to country/folk and nouveau soul/r&b. * |
